I am pretty sure that most every one reading this has heard of P90X. If you haven’t, go do your research and then read this.
P90X works. Pure and simple. But it isn’t the workout program itself that makes it so damn potent of a program. As a matter of fact, if you have ever done or even seen the workout for p90X, you know that there is nothing new in the content of the workout. There is one thing that sets p90X apart from any other work.

This is the headline that reads on the P90x website. It is very effective, but not for the reasons they state:

Not quite. Muscle confusion is a great way to get ripped and P90X takes full advantage of this feature to the extreme, and that is physically how users get the results. But P90X does something else that nearly guarantees the success of the program to the individuals. The secret of P90X is the 90.
90 days. It isn’t a “30 day shred” or a “21 day fat loss”. You get 3 months of not having to think about a workout. Every single day for 3 months, you know exactly what you are suppose to do, for how long, and have someone showing you exactly how to do it and how to modify it from the comfort of your own home. The physical aspect of the program isn’t rocket science. The fact that it is a 90 day program is the part that makes it so successful.
People have a hard time sticking to something. Most of the time, people end up working out for about 2 weeks before life hits again and they decide that their own health should take the back burner. Some people get bored. Some hit plateaus and just stop. And even some fall to human nature and realize that it is just easier to do nothing than do something. P90X helps you take care of all these issues by laying out a full 3 months worth of workout programs that you can do from the comfort of your own home. No traveling to the gym. No wondering what to do next. No thinking. No excuses.
Will P90X Work For Me?
Probably not. You are probably too good for P90X. You could probably take the workout and do it on your own, because you have that much dedication. You have the time to wake up before work, get dressed, drive to the gym, figure out what to do, do it, drive home, shower then head of to work. Or you have the discipline to come home after a long day of work, do everything you need to do before you head out to the gym. You don’t get tired and exhausted. You have never looked at the clock at 830pm and thought “I should really go to the gym but I am just too damn tired”. Or told yourself you were going to wake up early in the morning, only to hit your alarm 500 times before it is too late. That isn’t you. You have the passion to plan 90 days worth of workouts AND execute them with all the fortitude that you have within you. You LOVE traveling to the gym. The thought of working out in the comfort of your own home where no one gives you weird looks when you have no idea what you are doing. You love those looks. You like the big hairy guys grunting and sweating as they throw weights on the ground. You like seeing 16 year olds wearing too much makeup going 1 mph on the bike reading the latest gossip magazine. You like paying for dues. P90X would never work for you.
Don’t kid yourself. Life happens. If you can relate to any of the above, you should seriously consider getting p90X. P90X has yielded great results for many people. Why should your results be any different? P90X allows you to workout on YOUR time. It plans out the workouts for you so you don’t have to think. You don’t have to travel to the gym. You don’t have to pay gym fees. You don’t have to worry about how to do an exercise because Tony Horton shows you how to do it. He also shows you how to modify it in case you can fully execute the exercise. You are in the comfort of your own home so you don’t have to worry about looking like an uncoordinated sweaty mess (we all are, don’t worry!).
I have had people ask me all the time what I think about P90X. I always tell them it is a waste of money. Anyone who works out for 90 straight days doing high intensity plyometrics will get great results. The question is: When was the last time you had a structured program for 90 days focusing on high intensity plyometrics? If you go as a personal trainer for a 90 day program on high intensity plyometrics, they probably will have no idea what you are talking about (unless they are an educated personal trainer). Let’s say that for some crazy reason you found a personal trainer that could do a program for you like P90X. Chances are they will charge $90 a session. 2 sessions a week for 12 weeks is 24 session. 24×90 is $2160. So you could spend 2k+ or more on a similar program. But you still have to drive out and meet your trainer in a park with people watching. Or you can purchase P90X for $120 bucks and get the same results in the comfort of your own home.
Bottom Line: P90X works. Get it. Get Results.
